Early Spring at Jack London State Historic Park

Are you beginning to feel spring in the air? Spring may not officially start until the end of March, but at Jack London State Historic Park, spring arrives on March 7th. Join park leaders for a slow nature hike and take in the sights of early spring. Here is the official event information:

Walk Into Early Spring at Jack London State Historic Park

The focus will be on early spring during our second nature walk of 2015. Join Deborah Large, Ken Ackerman and Park naturalist John Lynch as we take a slow paced 4 mile nature walk exploring the wildflowers, birds and other animals as they adapt to the early spring conditions of the park. Some of the early bloomers we might see are Indian Warrior, Star Lily, Canyon Delphinium, Milkmaids and Western Trillium. Plus birder Ken Ackerman will introduce us to the birds we find along the way and maybe some surprises. Explore nature with us during this beautiful season of the year.

We suggest you wear sturdy shoes, bring water, snacks and binoculars on this 3 hour, moderate walk that is for all ages 15 and up.
WHEN: March 7th from 10 am to 1:00 pm
WHERE: Meet in the ranch parking lot of Jack London State Historic Park
2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen

Admission is $10 per person (an additional parking fee of $10 per car is collected at kiosk upon entering). We have planned many events this year so it may be the time for you to buy a yearly Jack London Park pass for $49.00 which is good in Jack London State Historic Park and Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.
